Police appealed for witnesses to a serious traffic accident which occurred in Wan Chai today (October 2) leaving a 38-year-old woman seriously injured.
At about 3.30 pm, a private car driven by a 49-year-old man was travelling along northbound Pennington Street. While approaching the junction with Irving Street, the private car reportedly knocked down the 38-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries, the woman was rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital and was later transferred to Queen Mary Hospital where she was admitted in a critical condition.
Police are anxious to contact witnesses of the accident. Anyone who has information to offer is urged to contact Accident Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island at 3106 8800 or 2524 8733.
