The spokesperson of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital made the following announcement today:
Starting from 27 September 2005, 2 male patients (aged 36 and 43) in an acute psychiatric ward had been diagnosed with pneumonia and the test result of another patient was positive to flu A. They have been transferred to isolation ward immediately for further management. They are now afebrile and their conditions are stable and improving.
As a precaution, PYNEH has closely monitored the patients in the same ward.
The cases have been reported to Hospital Authority and Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
