A traffic accident involving a seven-seater car and a goods vehicle occurred at 1am today (October 2) on Highway 205 near Boluo in Huizhou, resulting in a number of casualties. Among the casualties, two Hong Kong male residents were reported to have died and one other male Hong Kong resident was injured.
All the injured persons were sent to a local hospital for treatment.
A spokesman for the Security Bureau said the Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Beijing and the Immigration Department had immediately liaised with the relevant Mainland authorities to follow up the case after learning of the accident this afternoon. Two Immigration Officers had been deployed to the hospital this afternoon to provide all practicable assistance to the victims.
The spokesman said the Immigration Department had already contacted the family members of the victims in Hong Kong.
