Fatal Traffic accident in Sha Tau Kok

A 21-year-old man was killed in a fatal traffic accident in Sha Tau Kok early this (October 2) morning.

The accident occurred at about 3.30 am, a private car driven by the 21-year-old man was travelling along the Sha Tau Kok (STK) bound carriageway of STK Road. When reaching Wo Hang before Luk Keng, the driver reportedly lost control and rammed into a lamp-post and a tree on the roadside.

The private car was severely damaged and the driver was seriously injured. He was rescued by firemen from the vehicle and rushed to North District Hospital where he was certified dead at 0425 hours.

Special Investigation Team of New Territories North took over the case for further enquiry.

Police appeal to members of the public who might have witnessed the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2455 4210.
