Drainage improvement works to be carried out in Southern
Lantau

The Government intends to carry out drainage improvement works in Mui Wo, Lantau Island for the purpose of improving the drainage condition in the area.

The works will affect about 4,740 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed at Tai Tei Tong River, Pak Ngan Heung River, Luk Tei Tong River and Luk Tei Tong (2) By-pass Channel.  

The works are scheduled to commence in end 2006 and to be completed by end 2009.

A notice describing the extent of the area affected is published in the Government Gazette today (September 30).

The notice together with a related plan can be seen on notice boards posted near the site.  The plan can also be inspected at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23rd Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road; Islands District Office, 20th Floor, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central and Mui Wo Sub-office, Ground Floor, Mui Wo Government Offices, 2 Ngan Kwong Wan Road, Mui Wo, Lantau Island.

Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, on or before November 30, 2005.
