The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (September 26) pursued one claim in the Small Claims Tribunal for some $13,000 on behalf of two employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employer.
At today's hearing, the defendant, Well Dragon Holdings Limited trading as Hop Hing Motors, did not dispute the amount claimed. The Adjudicator ordered it to pay the MPFA the sum of $13,113.15, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharge payable.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The court further awarded a payment of $450 as the cost of the claim.
