Police appeal to members of the public for information on a robbery occurred in Sheung Shui early this (September 24) morning in which over $2.2 million of computer parts were robbed.
At about 4 am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) loaded with 12 boxes of computer parts and with a 39-year-old Pakistani man on board, was parked outside a godown at Choi Fat Street.
Suddenly, two men armed with knives, approached the vehicle, threatened the man and boarded the MGV. They ordered the man to drive away. While the vehicle reached somewhere in Tuen Mun, the culprits tied up the victim's hands and legs with adhesive tape, blindfolded him and pushed him to the rear compartment.
The culprits then drove the vehicle for sometimes, unloaded the goods and fled.
The victim managed to move to the driver seat and pushed the horn which alerted a passer-by who then made a report to Police at about 5.20 am.
Responding to the report, Police officers arrived at San Hing Tsuen on Ng Lau Road in Tuen Mun and released the man. He sustained no injury. The cost of the stolen computer parts was estimated to be over $2.2 million.
Enquiries revealed that two culprits were in their thirties. Both of them were wearing caps and black coats when committing the crime.
The case has been taken over by the Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North for investigations.
