
Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Kwun

********************************************************* Police today (September 21) appealed to members of the public for information on a traffic accident in Kwun Tong last month in which an 84-year-old man was killed.
At about 1.10 pm on August 31, a light goods vehicle driven by a 48-year-old man was travelling along southbound Hoi Yuen Road. While making a left turn into Hing Yip Street, the vehicle reportedly knocked down the 84-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to United Christian Hospital and later transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 9.05 am on September 12.
Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are proceeding.
Police urge anyone who might have witnessed the accident or has any information to offer to contact the investigating officers at 2305 7500.
