Tsuen Wan restaurant ordered to suspend business
************************************************ The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Tsuen Wan to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant comprising premises at G/F 17 Tsuen Wan Market Street and Rear Portion, G/F 14 Chuen Lung Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (September 20) to October 3.
"In May and June this year, the licensee of the restaurant was convicted twice for failing to store open food in a proper manner. She was fined a total of $5,300 and 15 demerit points were registered against her under the department's demerit points system. The contravention resulted in the 14-day business suspension," a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said today.
The spokesman said the licensee was convicted twice for the same offence in February and March this year.
"She was fined a total of $5,700 and 15 demerit points were also registered against her. The breaches also led to business suspension for seven days from June 13 to 19 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or even cancelled.
