Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong in which a 43-year-old man was killed and a 34-year-old man was injured early this (September 19) morning.
At about 2.20 am, a light goods vehicle driven by a 34-year-old man was travelling upslope Hiu Kwong Street east bound. When near Sau Mau Ping upper bus terminus, it reportedly lost control and collided with a taxi travelling downslope Hiu Kwong Street west bound in the opposite lane.
The 43-year-old taxi driver was trapped inside the compartment after the accident and rescued by firemen at scene.
Sustaining serious injuries, the taxi driver was rushed to the United Christian Hospital where he was certified dead at 3.18 am.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic Kowloon East are proceeding.
