Special Arrangements for Penny's Bay during the Mid-Autumn
Festival
***********************************************************

Hongkong International Theme Park Limited (HKITP) will work together with the Transport Department, the Police, and the Tourism Commission to ensure proper crowd management of the Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre (ILRC) and the Park Promenade during the Mid-Autumn Festival from September 17 to 19.

ILRC

The ILRC is a major attraction open to the public all-year round. It will maintain its normal opening hours from 9am to 7pm during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. Relevant departments and the management of ILRC, HKITP, have carefully considered the possibility of extending the opening hours of ILRC. ILRC is not designed for late-evening recreational activities serving a large volume of visitors. The Inspiration Lake is about 4-meter deep. In consideration of the level of illumination, and the fact that the Lake is only intermittently lined with railings, HKITP took the advice of the Police that the ILRC should not be opened for late-evening recreational use involving a large number of visitors.

Regarding the traffic arrangements, car parking and drop-off within ILRC will continue to be restricted to vehicles with authorised access, e.g. franchised buses, Rehab buses, vehicles on duty and emergency vehicles. All private cars and tour coaches must alight or board at the car park or coach park of Hong Kong Disneyland. The ILRC is a 10-15 minutes walk from the car and coach parks. Public can also make use of the franchised bus R8A from the Disneyland Resort Public Transport Interchange to visit the ILRC.

Park Promenade

HKITP, manager of Park Promenade, will endeavour to ensure public safety and proper order on Park Promenade, by stepping up the staff deployment. The park management will work closely with the Police on crowd management on Park Promenade. We would urge that visitors should give due regard to the safety of fellow visitors and avoid engaging in activities that may pose hazard to themselves and others, e.g. burning wax. If necessary, HKITP will seek Police's assistance.

Due to the limited open areas at Park Promenade, crowd control measures will be implemented to avoid overcrowding. The public is advised to follow the instruction of the park management and the Police.

Traffic Management

As there are limited car parking spaces in Penny's Bay, we strongly encourage visitors to use public transport. The Police will implement special traffic control arrangements and turn vehicles away from Penny's Bay when the facilities have reached their capacity limits.

Public are advised to observe the departing time of the last MTR train on September 17 and 19, which falls on 12.40am. To provide greater convenience for the public during the Mid-Autumn Festival on 18 September, Disneyland Resort Line will run throughout the night up to 6am of September 19, as with the other six MTR lines in the city.

Cross-boundary transport

For Mainland tourists planning to visit the theme park during the Mid-Autumn Festival, they are encouraged to use the Lo Wu Boundary Control Point to enter and leave Hong Kong to alleviate the burden at Lok Ma Chau. They should also consider adjusting their journey to avoid cross the boundary at morning and evening peak hours.
