Fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O
*************************************** Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident occurred in Tseung Kwan O last night (September 14) during which a 21-year-old male private car driver was killed.
Shortly after 11.30pm yesterday, a private car, driven by a 21-year-old man, was travelling along Clear Water Bay Road towards Clear Water Bay.
When reaching near Hang Hau Wing Lung Road, the private car reportedly lost control and went across the opposite lane where it had a head-on collision with a public light bus travelling along the opposite direction.
After the accident, the private car driver was trapped inside the compartment and was rescued by the firemen. Sustaining serious injuries, he was rushed to Tseung Kwan O Hospital and later transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 6.01am today (September 15).
Another 55-year-old male public light bus passenger was slightly injured in the accident.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic, Kowloon East are proceeding. Anyone who has witnessed the accident or has information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers on 2305 7500 or 2305 7570.
