
MPFA recovers MPF non-payment for employee
****************************************** The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (September 13) pursued one claim in the Small Claims Tribunal for some $11,000 on behalf of an employee, who was owed MPF contributions by his employer.
At today's hearing, the defendant, All Target Company Limited trading as Trio's Restaurant & Lounge, did not appear at today's hearing. In its absence, the Adjudicator ordered it to pay the MPFA the sum of $11,670.75, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharge payable.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employee's MPF account as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The court further awarded payment of $450 as cost in respect of the claim.
