Contract signed for lighting systems on Hong Kong Island and

************************************************************ The Acting Deputy Director of Highways, Mr Chow Ying-shun, today (September 13) signed a $120-million contract on behalf of the Government with Cavendish Construction Limited for the management, operation, installation and maintenance of the public lighting systems on Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island.
This is a four-year contract from October 2005 to September 2009. The works mainly comprise the management, operation, installation and maintenance of the public lighting systems on Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island, including road lighting, gantry sign lighting, roadside directional sign lighting and the associated network of cables, ducts and peripheral items.
