Police today (September 9) arrested three men for criminal damage and criminal intimidation in connection with illegal debt collection activities in Kwai Chung.
Following intensive investigations into cases of criminal damage, criminal intimidation, telephone nuisance and making false reports in Kwai Tsing District in past two months, Police successfully identified the debt collecting agencies involved.
At about 3.30 pm, crime officers of Kwai Chung Division arrested three men during a raid at the office of a debt collecting agency on Kwong Wa Street in Mong Kok.
Officers also seized some computer sets, bank records, telephone cards and related documents during the operation.
The arrested men, aged between 23 and 32, are being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by Divisional Investigation Team of Kwai Chung are proceeding.
"Police will continue to carry out similar operations with an aim to combat illegal debt collecting activities," a Police spokesman said.
