Joint statement on Memorandum of Understanding between HK
and the Netherlands (English only)
********************************************************** Following is a joint statement on the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Co-operation between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Government of Netherlands and the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China:
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cultural Cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Government of the Netherlands and the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was signed by Ms Medy C van der Laan, Vice-Minister of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands and Dr Patrick Ho, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region today (September 8) in Hong Kong.
The MoU marks the joint efforts of the governments in strengthening the cultural cooperation in both places and provides a formal framework to promote cooperation in the field of culture. Such cooperation will contribute to the furtherance of mutual awareness, respect, understanding, harmony and friendship between the people in the Netherlands and Hong Kong.
Both Governments hope to expand the exchanges of performing groups and art works and are exploring other cultural exchange activities.
