Central Police Station Heritage Tourism Project

The Secretary for Economic Development and Labour, Mr Stephen Ip, met with representatives of the Conservancy Association, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects and the Central and Western District Council today (September 6) to listen to their views on the Central Police Station Heritage Tourism Project.

Views on the sustainable development and conservation of the heritage were presented at the meeting. These included assessing the cultural significance of the compound before inviting tenders, setting up a provisional authority for cultural heritage and collecting views from concerned parties before finalising a development plan. Mr Ip agreed to consider these views together with concerned departments and said he would also continue to exchange views on the project with the parties concerned.
