SWD welcomes the recommendations of Coroner's Court on Tin
Shui Wai case
***********************************************************

The Social Welfare Department welcomed the recommendations of the Coroner's Court on the hearing of a domestic violence case in Tin Shui Wai in April last year, a department spokesman  said today (September 5).

"The government will not tolerate domestic violence of any kind at any time. We will continue to step up publicity and enhance public education and staff training," the spokesman said.

The department will carefully study the five recommendations made by the court in relation to the department and non-governmental organisations. Some of the suggestions are in line with existing improvement measures, such as training for social workers and review of the Multi-disciplinary Case Conference.

"In addition, we will continue to take forward the recommendations made by the three-member Review Panel on Family Services in Tin Shui Wai which was set up in April last year," the spokesman added.
