Police are appealing for witnesses to a wounding and criminal damage case in Tsuen Wan early this (August 23) morning in which a 29-year-old man was attacked by two culprits.

At about 4.15 am, a public light bus (PLB) driver reported that he was attacked by two men outside Citistore on Tsuen Wan Market Street.

Enquiries revealed that shortly before the incident, the PLB was waiting outside Citistore for passengers with six to seven passengers already on board.

A private car with three men on board suddenly stopped in front of the PLB. Two of them alighted and approached the victimˇ¦s PLB. One of them, armed with a metal bar, smashed the PLBˇ¦s windscreen and driver window while another, armed with a melon knife, boarded the PLB and attacked the victim.

The duo then boarded the private car and fled.

The victim, sustaining injuries on his hands and back, was taken to Yan Chai Hospital for treatment and is now admitted in stable condition.

A private car was later found on fire near the country park on Shing Mun Road at about 4.40 am. Police attended the scene and investigations revealed that the vehicle was reported missing on August 20 in Tuen Mun area.
