The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (August 22) pursued two claims in the Small Claims Tribunal for some $3,000 on behalf of two employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employers.

The defendants, B Boss Advertising Company Limited and Mandarin Global Corporation Limited, did not appear at today's hearing. In their absence, the Adjudicator ordered them to pay the MPFA the sums of $2,364.59 and $1,362.45, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The court further awarded payment of $280 as cost in respect of the claims from each defendant.
