    The Financial Secretary has appointed Professor Chan Ka-lok, Messrs Fong Hup and Martin Wheatley and re-appointed Mr Eddie Yue as members of the Risk Management Committee (RMC) of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx).  The appointments, made under the Securities and Futures Ordinance, will take effect from July 1, 2005, to June 30, 2007.  

    "We are thankful to the two outgoing members, Professor Lam Kin and Mr Leong Ka-chai for their invaluable contribution to the RMC during their term of office," a government spokesman said today (June 29).

    The RMC was established in March, 2000, with the statutory role to formulate policies on risk management matters relating to activities of the HKEx and its subsidiaries for consideration by the board of the HKEx.

    The RMC is chaired by the Chairman of the HKEx, currently Mr Charles Lee.  The other serving members of RMC are Mr Peter Wong, Dr Bill Kwok and Mr Henry Fan.
