    Following is a statement by the Acting Chief Executive, Mr Henry Tang, today (June 6) on the death of Mr Peter Tsao:

    I am saddened to learn that Mr Peter K Y Tsao has passed away.  Mr Tsao served the Hong Kong Government and the people of Hong Kong from 1955 until his retirement in 1992.  I have known Mr Tsao for many years.  His dedication and commitment to public service is well respected.  I would like to send my deepest condolences to Mr Tsao's family and friends.
