certification for their Registry and Court Support Services **************************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Judiciary:
The Registry and Court Support Services of the Magistrates' Courts obtained the ISO 9001:2000 certification in March 2005, signifying that their quality management system has attained internationally recognised standards, the Judiciary announced today (May 20).
In a certificate presentation ceremony held today, the Judiciary Administrator, Mr Wilfred Tsui, was presented with the ISO 9001:2000 certificate from Dr Lam Po-hing, the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency.
Subsequent to the Small Claims Tribunal and the Lands Tribunal which obtained their certification in 2002 and 2003 respectively, the Magistrates' Courts obtained the same honour for their quality management system in March 2005.
During the past 15 months, the Magistrates' Courts had effectively established and implemented a quality management system for their Registry and Court Support Services. The ISO 9001 certification is not only a recognition of the success of the system, it also shows the commitment of the Judiciary Administration to providing quality services and striving for continual improvement.
