Kowloon Bay Park open to public

*******************************

The 4.1-hectare Kowloon Bay Park, managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), was officially opened for public use today (March 30).

The park is situated on Kai Lai Road and next to Kowloon Bay Sports Ground.

Kowloon Bay Park provides various recreational and sports facilities, including a cycling ground, a seven-a-side artificial turf soccer pitch and an 11-a-side grass soccer and rugby pitch for people of all ages. There is also a children's playground, a Tai Chi garden and a pebble path.

"People can use these facilities according to their own interests. The mix of sports and leisure facilities enables people of different ages to stay healthy through regular exercises," an LCSD spokesman said.

The cycling ground is open daily from 7am to 11pm, while the children's playground, Tai Chi garden and the pebble path are open throughout the day.

The seven-a-side artificial turf soccer pitch will open from 8am to 11pm daily from Friday (April 1).

The 11-a-side natural turf soccer and rugby pitch will open from 8am to 10.30pm daily from May 3, but not on Thursdays.

People can book the artificial turf soccer pitch or the soccer/rugby pitch via the ESD Life website, the Leisure Link Telephone Booking Hotline and all Leisure Link outlets 30 days in advance.

Enquiries can be made on 2750 0849.
