Appeal for information on missing man

Police today (January 21) appeal to members of the public for information on the whereabouts of an elderly man who went missing earlier this month.

The 86-year-old missing man, Lau Tong, was last seen at his daughter's home in Lai On Estate, Sham Shui Po on January 17. He failed to return to his home in Lai Kok Estate and his daughter made a report to Police on January 19.

Standing about 1.65 metres and weighing about 49.9 kilograms, he is of thin build, has a round face, white short hair and a broken index finger. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve wool sweater, a pair of dark colour long trousers and dark colour leather or cloth shoes.

Initial enquiries revealed that the missing man like hiking in the vicinity of Kam Shan Country Park and fishing at Tsim Shan Tsui Pier, North Point Pier and Plover Cove Reservoir.

Police urge anyone who has information on the whereabouts of the missing man to contact Regional Missing Person Unit of Kowloon West at 2761 2467 or 2761 2395.
