A total of six nominations were received for the by-election in the Tin Wan Constituency of the Southern District Council when nominations ended today (October 20).
One nomination was submitted by Mr Fung Wa Hing on the last day of nominations today.
The personal particulars of the six nominees are:
A briefing session for candidates and their agents will be held at the Southern District Council Conference Room on Saturday (October 23), when the Chairman of the Electoral Affairs Commission, Mr Justice Woo Kwok-hing, will introduce the guidelines on election-related activities.
A representative from the Independent Commission Against Corruption will also explain the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance.
Representatives of the Registration and Electoral Office, the Post Office and the Department of Justice will also be present.
After the briefing session, the Returning Officer will draw lots to determine the order of the candidates' names to be printed on the ballot papers.
The poll will be conducted on Sunday, November 21, and the successful candidate will fill a seat that became vacant after former Southern District Council Member, Mr Miu Wah Chang, was disqualified from holding office.
