Seven pre-sale consents issued in the third quarter of 2004

The Lands Department issued seven consents for the sale of residential units in uncompleted developments between July and September, 2004. The department also issued two consents to assign in this period, in respect of 2,554 residential units. All were issued within the department's performance target time limit.

A department spokesman said today (October 7) that the seven consents involved 4,065 residential units located in various districts of Hong Kong. One development comprising 36 residential units is estimated to be completed by October, 2004, another three developments comprising 2,072 residential units are estimated to be completed by September 30, 2005 and the remaining three with 1,957 residential units by February 28, 2006.

The department issued one consent for the sale of 316 residential units in one uncompleted development in September, 2004. The development is located in the Kowloon district and is estimated to be completed in February, 2006. One consent to assign 544 residential units was issued in September, 2004.

As at the end of September, 2004, 16 applications for residential developments involving 10,534 residential units and four applications for consent to sell commercial developments, located in various districts of Hong Kong, were pending approval. One of the residential developments involving 1,576 residential units is estimated to be completed within 2004, nine involving 5,365 residential units within 2005, and five involving 3,548 residential units by September, 2006. There were also five applications pending approval for consent to assign, two in respect of commercial developments and one residential development comprising 410 units.

People may obtain up-to-date information on consents to sell residential units in uncompleted developments issued for the last six months and cases pending approval as at the end of September, 2004, by dialling LACO's Hotline No. 2147 5475 or on the Lands Department Website at www.info.gov.hk/landsd/.

The names of the developer, its parent company (if any), its solicitors, authorised person (including the name of the firm) and the mortgagee bank (if any) in respect of individual developments are also available to the public in the form of reports obtainable through the fax-on-demand facilities of the hotline or the Lands Department website.
