Free jazz concerts for Sai Kung and Stanley this summer

***************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will launch a series of Jazz concerts, "Waving in Music", at two popular leisure spots - Sai Kung and Stanley - during two weekends in July and August.

Featuring a variety of jazz music including blues, standard jazz, fusion, flamenco and Latin, the free concerts are special treats for the general public and tourists.

The concerts will take place on July 31 and August 1 at Sai Kung Waterfront Park and on August 7 and 8 at Stanley Plaza Village Square. Starting from 3.30pm, three popular local jazz bands will present three hours of music and songs.

Led by guitarist Vincent Lam, local blues band Helter Skelter will kick off the show with an hour of rocking blues.

Papa Jack will follow with refreshing standard jazz and fusion.

Nouveau flamenco Latin jazz group Red Taurus will enchant the audience from 5.30pm. Members of Red Taurus come from different parts of the world including Singapore, Sri Lanka, Japan and Australia.

To add colour to the show, a roving soloist will fill the venues with wonderful saxophone music. There will also be live accordion music at the Sai Kung performance to complete the show.
