A total of 44 nominations for the 2003 District Council Election were received by the Returning Officers in 15 districts today (October 14). No nominations were received in the other three districts.
This brings to 795 the total number of nominees since the two-week nomination period started on October 2. Nominations will close at 5pm tomorrow (October 15).
The Returning Officer of the Southern District today also received a notice of withdrawal of candidature from a nominee, Mr Chow Hing Wong Sammy, for the poll in South Horizons East.

A total of 400 District Council members for the 18 District Councils, one for each constituency, will be elected on November 23.
