A 36-year-old man was sentenced at the District Court this (October 13) morning to six and a half years' imprisonment for dangerous drugs-related offences.
The court heard that officers of the Narcotics Bureau acting on information intercepted the man shortly after he had left a building on Nathan Road, Yau Ma Tei, around mid-night on March 14.
The man was found holding two plastic bags containing 33.40 grams of ketamine, 540 ecstasy tablets with a total weight of 23.28 grams, 11.19 grams of Ice, 1.98 grams of estazolam, one mebhydrolin tablet and one dextromethorphan tablet.
The man was arrested and admitted that he intended to deliver the drugs to a disco for the consumption by his friends.
A subsequent search on a flat of the building discovered 31.59 grams of ketamine, four nimetazepam tablets weighing 0.02 gram.
A further search on the man's home on Grampian Road, Kowloon City, seized 2.88 grams of cannabis.
The total retail value of the drugs seized was $102,125.
On March 16, the man was charged with two courts of trafficking in dangerous drugs, one court of possession of dangerous drugs and one counts of possession of Part I poison.
The case was tried on September 9.
Except the possession of Part I poison, the man was convicted of all the charges on September 26.
The court meted out six and a half years' imprisonment to the man today.
