A total of 55 nominations for the 2003 District Council Election were received by the Returning Officers in 17 districts today (October 9). No nominations were received in Southern District.
This brings to 665 the total number of nominees since the two-week nomination period started on October 2.

A total of 400 members, one for each constituency, will be elected for the 18 District Councils on November 23.
