Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sha Tin early today (October 7) in which a 46-year-old man was killed.

Police received a report at about 5.30 am that a bus driver was found trapped between two buses inside a bus depot at Tsung Tau Ha Road.

The victim was later rescued by firemen and rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at about 6.20 am.

Initial investigation revealed that shortly before the accident occurred, the victim drove a single-decker bus into the depot and parked his bus behind a double-decker bus.

When the victim alighted his bus and went to have a checking of another bus, his bus skidded forward and trapped the victim between two buses.

Further investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic, New Territories South are proceeding.

Police appealed to the staff of the depot who might have witnessed the accident to contact the investigating officers on 2611 3200.
