The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (October 7) pursued four claims in the Small Claims Tribunal, totaling some $94,300 on behalf of 13 employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employers.

The defendants were Onrich Investment Limited, Ho Ho Kwong trading as A Step Ahead Cleaning Engineering Company, Successful Holdings Limited trading as Nam Hoi Seafood Restaurant and MP Hong Kong Limited.

The above defendants did not appear at today's hearing. In their absence, the Adjudicator ordered them to pay the MPFA the sum of $40,028.74, $31,570.58, $20,050.28 and $2,745.40 respectively, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

The amounts awarded will be reimbursed to the relevant employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. Amounts of $160, $290, $440 and $240 were also awarded respectively as costs in respect of the claims.
