Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in which a 48-year-old man was killed in Yau Ma Tei last night (September 26).

Shortly before 11.48 pm last night, a private car travelling along the eastbound carriageway of Jordan Road reportedly collided with a motorcycle travelling the westbound carriageway of Jordan Road when the private car was negotiating a right turn to Cox's Road.

After the impact, the 48-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at about 12.24 am.

Police arrested the 34-year-old male driver of the private car for drink driving and dangerous driving causing death.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are proceeding.
