Police are investigating a traffic accident in Mo On Shan this (August 25) evening in which a 79-year-old woman was killed.

At about 8.04 pm, a private car reportedly knocked down the old woman when it was making a U-turn on an unnamed road near the entrance of Kam Ying Court.

After the impact, the old woman was trapped under the private car. She was rescued by firemen and then rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital where she was certified dead at about 9.26 pm.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic New Territories South are underway.
