CP extends condolences to family of deceased Police Constable

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Tsang Yam-pui, was deeply griefed by the death of Police Constable, Mr Wong Kit-hong today (August 25).

Extending his condolences to Mr Wong's family, Mr Tsang said full support would be rendered to them through this sad and difficult period.

"I extend my deepest sympathy to his wife, family and colleagues," Mr Tsang said.

He added that the Force would make every effort to help his family during this time of sadness.

Shortly before midnight on August 12, Mr Wong, attached to the Enforcement and Control Division of Traffic Kowloon East (E&C/TKE), was on his way to the scene of a traffic accident on Po Lam Road.

On reaching the junction of Po Lam Road North and Po Fung Road, the Constable's motorcycle reportedly collided with a goods vehicle which was travelling along Po Fung Road.

Sustaining injuries, he was sent to the Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment and admitted in critical condition.

Mr. Wong passed away at 5.41 pm today.

Mr Wong joined the Force in 1997. He has served in Patrol Sub-unit of Tsueng Kwan O Division, Police Tactical Unit and E&C/TKE.

He was survived by his wife with no children.
