Applications for 2,300 short-term vacancies created by the Government under different employment and training projects for young people aged 15 to 24 will open tomorrow (August 26). This is the second recruitment exercise.
All vacancies have a monthly salary of $4,000 and last for six months. Details are as follows:

Applications for Community Building Assistant and Nature Appreciation Promotion Ambassador will close on August 28 and application forms should be submitted to Job Centres of the Labour Department. The deadline for submitting applications for Tourism Development Assistant and Positive Life Project Assistant is September 5. Application forms may be submitted to the relevant non-government organisations through facsimile.
Application forms can be obtained from August 26 at all Job Centres of the Labour Department or from the department's website http://www.jobs.gov.hk.
The Chief Executive announced in June that the Government would allocate $715 million to create 32,050 short-term jobs and training vacancies to ease the unemployment situation. These included seven short-term employment and training projects for young people, providing more than 8,000 six-month training vacancies with a monthly salary of $4,000. Training projects cover various sectors in tourism, leisure and sports, cultural activities, the arts, nature appreciation and community care. Recruitment work for most of these vacancies has been completed and successful candidates will report for duty later this month or next month.
