The Government plans to reconstruct the Ko Lau Wan Public Pier and Wong Shek Public Pier in Sai Kung North.
Both piers are in deteriorating condition and the reconstruction will enhance their appearance and provide attractive focal points in the area.
Two notices concerning the respective reconstruction works were gazetted today (August 8).
The works will affect an area of about 2,280 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed at Ko Lau Wan and an area of 2,320 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed at Wong Ma Tei, Sai Kung North respectively.
Both works are scheduled to commence in October 2004 for completion by October 2006.
The notices together with their related plans can be seen on notice boards posted near the sites. The plans are also available for public inspection at the Lands Department's Survey and Mapping Office, 23rd floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point; and the Tai Po District Office, Ground Floor, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po.
Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th floor, North Point Government Offices, on or before October 8, 2003.
