The eigth polling day of 2003 Village Representative Elections ended at 7 pm today (August 3).

A total of 56 candidates from 20 villages contested for 28 seats, including 13 Indigenous Inhabitants Representatives (IIR) and 15 Resident Representatives (RR), in the IIR and RR elections.

A total of 3236 out of the 4437 registered voters had cast their votes, representing an overall turnout of 72.93 per cent.
