F5 graduates and their parents will be able to seek advice and counselling on careers and further study at three centres operating from tomorrow (August 4) until August 9.
The centres will be staffed by officers from the Labour Department and the Education and Manpower Bureau as well as a team of trained undergraduates from post-secondary colleges.
Information on careers development in various trades and industries, vocational training and further studies both locally and overseas will be provided. There will also be material on various programmes suitable for F5 students, such as the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme, the Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme and the Project Yi Jin.
Staff will also man an enquiry hotline (2152 5055) and an online chatroom at www.labour.gov.hk/careers for students to share their experiences and seek advice. Duty officers at the centres will give advice when necessary as chatroom hosts.
The three advisory centres are at:
* The Career Information Centre, Labour Department 12/F, AXA Centre, 151 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong;
* The Career Information Centre, Labour Department Room 929, 9/F, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon; and
*The Further Studies Resources Centre, Education and Manpower Bureau Room 1815, 18/F, Landmark North, 39 Lung Sum Avenue, Sheung Shui.
The centres will be open from 9 am to 5.30 pm from tomorrow to August 8, and from 9 am to noon on August 9.
From tomorrow to August 5, the hotline and chatroom service will run from 9 am to 7 pm and on August 9, from 9 am to noon. Round-the-clock services will be available from 9 am on August 6 to 7 pm on August 8.
