Lai Kok voters sent poll cards

Registered electors who can vote in the Sham Shui Po District Council Lai Kok Constituency by-election on August 3 (Sunday) should have already received their poll cards from the Registration and Electoral Office.

The electors, numbering more than 12,200, have also been sent an appeal letter from the Sham Shui Po District Officer, a map of the polling station designated for them, a guide to voting, an ICAC leaflet on clean elections and a leaflet introducing the candidates.

The two candidates contesting the by-election are Mr Fan Kwok Fai, a labour services social worker and Miss Lai Wai Lan, Tracy, also a social worker.

There are two polling stations -- at Lai Kok Community Hall in Lai Kok Estate, Cheung Sha Wan, and Shop No CX28, G/F, Fu Cheong Shopping Centre, Fu Cheong Estate, Sham Shui Po. The two polling stations will be open to voters from 7.30am to 10.30pm on August 3.

After the close of polls, the main counting station will be set up in the Lai Kok Community Hall polling station, while another counting station will be located at the Fu Cheong Shopping Centre polling station.

Electors who have not yet received their poll cards should call the Election Hotline on 2891 1001 or make enquiries by fax on 2891 1180.

The by-election is being held to fill a seat that became vacant after Sham Shui Po District Council member Mr Wong Chung-ki was disqualified from holding office.
