Following is the transcript (English portion) of a media session by the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, after a visit to the scene of the traffic accident on Tuen Mun Road this (July 10) morning:
Chief Executive: This has been a devastating, a very painful accident for all of us. So first I want to extend to the families, whose beloved ones have been lost or hurt, our deepest concern and condolences. I have asked the government departments to do whatever we can to help them. The priority right now is to get on with the rescue work. A lot has been done and we will be looking all over the site to make sure we will do the best we can. I have also asked Sarah (Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works) and the Police to start the investigative process to make sure that this sort of very tragic traffic accident does not happen again.
