A new series of TV Announcements in the Public Interest (APIs) will start to be screened in local TV stations tomorrow (July 7) to foster a clean Hong Kong culture in a lively way.
Four popular artistes, Leon Lai, Andy Lau, Sammi Cheng and Alex Fong, will appear in the APIs to help promote the message.
Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang visited the artistes in late June when they were taking part in the filming to thank them for their commitments to the campaign. They have all offered their services free of charge.
A Team Clean initiative, the APIs comprise four stories aiming to promote home and personal hygiene.
The first story, which focuses on personal hygiene, will be broadcast from tomorrow.
"Improving Hong Kong's living environment must begin with the individual, extend to the family and the neighbourhood, then radiate throughout the entire community," a spokesman for the Team Clean said.
Team Clean has developed a comprehensive strategy to help change the way Hong Kong people regard their living environment.
This will be achieved by promoting individual and community-wide involvement and ownership of cleanliness and hygiene efforts, increased civic education and effective enforcement action against breaches of food, hygiene and cleanliness regulations.
Team Clean has set out various practical and relevant measures concerning personal hygiene, home hygiene, and community hygiene. See http://www.teamclean.gov.hk for details.
