Two nominations for Sham Shui Po District Council by-election

Two nominations were received by the Returning Officer for the by-election in the Lai Kok Constituency of the Sham Shui Po District Council by the close of the nomination period today (July 3).

The personal particulars of the nominees are:

A briefing session for candidates and their agents will be held at the Sham Shui Po District Council Conference Room on Saturday (July 5). The Chairman of the Electoral Affairs Commission, Mr Justice Woo Kwok-hing, will introduce the guidelines on election-related activities.

A representative from the Independent Commission Against Corruption will explain the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance.

Representatives of the Registration and Electoral Office, the Post Office and the Department of Justice will also be present.

After the briefing session, the Returning Officer will draw lots to determine the order of the candidates' names to be printed on the ballot papers.

The poll will be conducted on Sunday, August 3, and the successful candidate will fill a seat that became vacant after a Sham Shui Po District Council Member, Mr Wong Chung-ki, was disqualified from holding office.
