Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin in which a motorist was killed this (July 1) morning.

Initial enquiries revealed that a motorcycle driven by a man in his twenties was travelling along westbound Prince Edward Road East at about 1.03 am.

When driving near San Po Kong Magistracy, the motorcyclist lost control and crashed his motorcycle into a kerb before he himself hitting a lamppost.

After the impact, the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he was certified dead at 1.46 am. No identity document was found on the deceased.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are proceeding. Anyone who might have witnessed the accident or has any information on the identity of the driver is urged to contact the investigating officers on 2305 7570.
