Police will implement special traffic arrangements tomorrow (July 1) to facilitate a procession from Victoria Park in Causeway Bay to the Central Government Offices in Central.
Some roads in Causeway Bay, Wanchai, Admiralty and Central will be temporarily closed upon the arrival of the procession of party in the afternoon.
Motorists are urged to avoid driving their vehicles to the affected areas when the roads are closed.
They should exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Traffic Police in the affected areas.
Members of the public are advised to use public transport.
The following roads will be closed from 1 pm:
1) A section of southbound Gloucester Road between the Victoria Park flyover and Causeway Road.
2) A section of northbound Gloucester Road from the 'U'-turn underneath the Tai Hang Road flyover near Sugar Street to Gloucester Road Service Road. The northbound Tai Hang Road flyover to Central will be maintained. Depending on the situation of crowd congregation, only vehicle(s) for Park Lane Hotel may use the Sugar Street, northbound Gloucester Road but subject to the direction of police officers at scene.
(3) A section of Great George Street between Paterson Street and Gloucester Road.
(4) A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street.
(5) A section of Kingston Street between Gloucester Road and Cleveland Street.
(6) Sugar Street.
Depending on the situation of the crowd congregation, the following roads will also be closed from 1 pm:
(1) Cleveland Street.
(2) A section of Kingston Street between Cleveland Street and Paterson Street.
(3) A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Gloucester Road Service Road.
The following roads will be closed from 3 pm in phases depending on the situation:
(1) A section of Westbound Yee Wo Street between Pennington Street and Hennessy Road.
(2) Jardine's Bazaar.
(3) Westbound Hennessy Road.
(4) A section of Percival Street between Lockhart Road and Hennessy Road.
(5) Tang Lung Street.
(6) A section of Canal Road East between Lockhart Road and Hennessy Road.
(7) A section of Canal Road East between Hennessy Road and Russell Street.
(8) A section of Canal Road West between Hennessy Road and Sharp Street West.
(9) A section of Bowrington Road between Hennessy Road and Sharp Street West.
(10) A section of Wanchai Road between Tin Lok Lane and Canal Road West.
(11) The down ramp from Aberdeen Tunnel to Wong Nai Chung Road (except franchised buses and scheduled PLBs).
(12) The slip road leading from eastbound Johnston Road to westbound Hennessy Road.
(13) A section of northbound Justice Drive between the Justice Drive flyover and Queensway.
(14) Westbound Queensway.
(15) A section of Garden Road between Garden Road flyover entrance and Queensway.
(16) A section of Queen's Road Central between Queensway and Ice House Street.
(17) Bank Street.
