Murder in Mong Kok

Police are investigating a murder in which an eight-month-old baby boy was found dead in Mong Kok this (June 20) morning.

At about 8.15 am, a 26-year-old woman found that her eight-month-old baby was lying unconscious at their home in Nathan Road and a report was made to the Police.

The boy was later certified dead at the scene. Initial examinations revealed that there were some bruise marks on his body.

A post-mortem conducted on the deceased revealed that he died of brain and throat injuries.

The 26-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the case and is still being detained for further enquiries.

Investigations by the District Crime Squad, Mong Kok, are continuing.

Police are anxious to contact a 34-year-old man, the friend of the 26-year-old woman, who is believed to be in connection with the case. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the man is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2398 6276 or the report room of Mong Kok Police Station at 2398 6231.
