The Lands Department proposes to realign a section of Fung Yuen Road, Tai Po to cater for the traffic demand arising from a residential development planned at Fung Yuen.

"The project is essential for the completion of the road network in the area," a spokesman for the Lands Department said today (June 20).

A notice concerning the proposed works is published in the Government Gazette today.

A plan showing the extent of the proposed works together with a scheme description is now available for public inspection during normal office hours at the following venues:

* Central and Western District Offices, Public Enquiry Service Centre, G/F, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central;

* Tai Po District Lands Office, 1/F, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po;

* Tai Po District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po.

Any person affected by the proposed works may submit a written objection to the Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works, 16/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Central on or before August 19, 2003.
