The public is invited to attend a presentation on a study of the governance of Hong Kong's public museums and the Hong Kong Film Archive on June 14 (Saturday).
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department commissioned consultancy firms, LORD Cultural Resources Planning and Management Inc and Deloitte and Touche Management Solutions Limited, to undertake the study in June 2002 with a view to updating the mode of governance. Having studied the current situation of public museum and film archive services in various countries, and solicited views from the public and stakeholders, the firms have now completed their report.
The presentation will be conducted in English with Chinese simultaneous interpretation. Admission is free and seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The executive summary of the report is available on the department's website: www.lcsd.gov.hk and at the reception counter at museums and the Hong Kong Film Archive.
A public consultation exercise will also be conducted from June 14 to September 30. Comments can be forwarded to the consultants:

In 1999, a Report on the Consultancy Study on Culture, the Arts, Recreation and Sports Services was conducted and the study recommended a review to further enhance museum services to the community. This review was one of the Policy Objectives of the Chief Executive's Policy Address 2000.
The public presentation will be held from 6pm to 8pm at the Lecture Theatre of the Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay.
For enquiries on the presentation, please call 2695 9127 during office hours or visit the department's website.
