Police are investigating a traffic accident in Causeway Bay in which a 45-year-old woman was killed this (May 15) morning.

Shortly before 11.30 am, a tram travelling on the westbound Causeway Road reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road near the Queen's College.

After the impact, the 45-year-old woman was trapped underneath the tram. She was later rescued and rushed to the Ruttonjee Hospital where she was certified dead at 11.56 am.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic, Hong Kong Island are proceeding.
